The north coast of Cornwall is both my home and my greatest source of inspiration. Its dramatic cliffs, expansive skies, and restless sea provide an endless dialogue of light, movement, and atmosphere that forms the heart of my work.
Working both en plein air and in the studio, I respond directly to the landscape, observing how shifting weather, tides, and seasons transform the coastline. Painting outdoors allows me to immerse myself in the environment, while the studio provides space to reflect and develop those immediate impressions into more considered works.
My paintings are an exploration of place, light, and memory. I am fascinated by the challenge of capturing a single moment in time—the luminous glow before a storm, the quiet stillness of dawn, or the changing colours of the sea as light moves across its surface. Through expressive brushwork and the richness of oil paint, I aim to convey not only the beauty of the Cornish coast but also the emotional connection it inspires.
